CityEV around the world
Switching to electric is a first step on the road to a greener future, and it’s one that is being spearheaded by governments and businesses across the globe. CityEV is proud to be helping to drive this forward with our ever-growing list of overseas partners.
Following a new collaboration with Sibelga, April 2021 saw CityEV bring electric vehicle charging to Brussels for the very first time. The country’s first charge points are from the CityEV Fast AC range and are now installed on street lamps by the Belgian municipality of Woluwe-Saint-Pierre.
The goal of this new partnership was to make Belgium’s electric charging infrastructure smarter, more reliable and more accessible, and these eight new units have done exactly that. EV drivers in the area will now be able to gain a 20km recharge in just 30 minutes*. CityEV keyfobs are being distributed to residents across the area so they can access and plug into the units with ease.
The new installations will also be used in studies on the driver experience and to help promote EV uptake on the continent.

Back in March, the first CityEV charge point was installed in India during the visit of the newly-appointed British High Commissioner to the Republic of India, Alex Ellis CMG. Their chosen unit was a Cityline 300 Fast AC charge point and is located at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office in Chennai, together with a unit for the NIWE and first commercial users.
In addition, CityEV also worked with EEE Taxi – one of India’s largest all-electric taxi fleets – to install a charge point at their company site in Bangalore (Bengaluru).
With all units designed and made in Britain, these collaborations are helping to promote UK exports and innovative UK-based technology from the sustainability and EV industries.
